Preseason Game Of The Week

Chorley FC win this week’s game of the week after a resounding 4-2 win over Manchester Cities under 21s on Friday night.

The Magpies opened the scoring after just 10 minutes with a goal from Harvey Smith sent a header flying into the top corner after a lovely cross into the box. Not long after the Magpies took the lead City score to tie the game.

​

Chorley had a tenacious Trialist out who won a penalty in the 27th minute after constant pressure on the City defenders. He fires it bottom corner beating the keeper who dived the correct way. Chorley go into half time 2-1 up and even more goals will come.

​

Sadly, the next Chorley goal didn’t come around in the league or else we would have had goal of the season on our hands. Cummins takes the lead to 3-1 after an absolutely superb overhead kick that sores past the keeper. A goal to remember for sure!

Chorley then went on to make it 4 after some brilliant team passing leaving Taylor open to score. As the game was coming to an end Man City scored a second but never were dangerous enough to worry Chorley.

What a Win for a promising Chorley side as they look to have a brilliant season in the National league North!
