The first week of National League football is complete and what a brilliant opening week it was! This week was jampacked with goals, drama and upset’s that set up an excellent 2026/2027 season.
National League-
Starting with the game off the week where newly promoted Worthing defeated favourites Carlisle in a Dramatic 2-3 victory that came with 3 top quality Worthing goals! Fellow National League South side Hornchurch dismantle Kidderminster in a 3-0 victory at home. Boreham Woods Matt Rush dominated Tamworth this week scorning a Hatrick but was let down by poor defence leaving the Wood with a 3-3 draw. Relegated Harrogate Town demolished Solihull Moors 5-2 with a flurry of late goals and Southend take care of business in a 1-3 win away from home at Altrincham. Fylde and Wealdstone end 2-2 after a dramatic second half that contained a screamer by Fylde’s Lewis. Aldershot win 1-0 away to Boston and Scunthorpe and Yeovil end 1-1. Forest Green win 3-2 against Halifax after going 0-1 down and Sutton hammer Woking 0-3 away. Finally, Eastleigh defeat Gateshead 2-1 and Barrow loose 2-0 to Hartlepool.
National league North/South-
South Shields take down Scarborough even after having a player sent off in the 50th minute. The score ended 0-1 after an excellent goal by Finch in the 11th minute. Dorking loose 0-1 to the Daggers at home after Harrack sends an excellent strike into the bottom corner from outside the box in the third minute. Further drama ensued as Andy Carrol was sent off in the 59th minute.
